PORT received a monetary donation, of £100, from The Bakemore Foundation. This will go towards printing our information booklets. We are in the process off updating these booklets.  The information booklets are sent across the country to prospective sufferers, and medical professionals. They contain a lot of useful information from explaining how the gut works, and how that differs in pseudo obstruction, to symptoms and treatment options, as well as details about the charity itself, the support provided and the research funded.

Many thanks to Aranee Navaratnam for organising a Birthday Fundraiser, through Facebook. She raised an amazing £150 for PORT Charity. Thank you so much for your continued SupPORT Aranee. This was our first birthday fundraiser, and as such a simple way to raise money we hope many more will follow!

PORT members have given their pictures, which will be used for a charity single. The funds for the single will go to PORT. This is a novel and exciting fundraising venture, which will not only raise vital funds for research into CIPO, it will also help to raise awareness into the rare yet debilitating condition, which many people know little or nothing about.

Many thanks to Cheryl East, and all the staff and customers of Dreams Beauty Salon. They have donated £108.00 to PORT Charity, from the sale of sweetie cones and a charity collection pot . TEAMPORT

Many thanks to beautiful brave Nyla and her friends Holly, Libby, Darcy, Megan, Oonagh and Numratha. The girls, who attend Bristol Cathedral Choir School, organised a bake sale and raised £66.74 for PORT Charity.  Beautiful Nyla suffers with CIPO. Thanks so much for supPORTing us!

This week PORT sent out small grant applications to various consultants and researchers. The research grant provided is up to £50,000. This year PORT funded 3 projects at a total cost of £150,000. Please look at the research section of our website for details of these. PORT would like to fund at least one project in 2020. Please consider SupPORTing our charity by fundraising for us. We cannot fund future research into CIPO/Dysmotility/Gastroparesis without the funds . It doesn’t have to be a large event, all money raised counts!  Some members have been kind enough to donate monthly via a direct debit. If you would like to help in this way please contact us for our charity bank details- thank you!

This year, trustees Barry Stewart and Dr Nigel Meadows represented PORT, at The Big Bowel Event. This year the event was held at CCT Venues, on Friday 4th October, from 10am-4pm.

The event gives the opportunity for researchers to talk to the public about their projects, and make use of their insights as patients, family and friends. Typically, the morning gives an insight into the research, and the opportunity for involvement. The afternoon brings academics, and the public together to help shape the best research. This year PORT had a stand at the event-an opportunity to increase awareness of our charity, and the work we do.
